Have you noticed an increase in utility poles everywhere?
Have you noticed utility lines going across the street, regardless that in the past, power on another block was totally separate from yours?
Have you ever contacted your utility company to verify why various poles were switched, relocated, or added to areas where they were never located in the past?
Imagine finding out that your utility company has no record of these alterations, insisting that the poles have always been standing as they are now. No sense in arguing with a company using altered documents - it is all they have and will fight you to the end.
After catching my neighbors in lies, on top of an additional $450 on my utility bill, I contacted PG&E (approx. 3/11/09.) Without coming out, the woman at PG&E demanded that it is impossible to tap into another person's lines. She said wires would have to be connected to their property. Isn't that what I was reporting? I requested she look at my neighbor's bill for anything unusual - she refused. I told her I would make sure this was looked into and hung up on her. The following day, the overhead wires were gone. This has been going on for years - only this time my neighbor blew it when he mentioned our power going off at the same time in the middle of the night. How would he know that? Secondly, I have lived here my entire 55 yrs and know that these blocks were never connected during power surges. This took place just before my neighbors had company for 2 months - a large motor home was parked in their driveway. I suspected my utilities were being tapped into when I saw my meter going crazy so I kept shutting off the main switch during the first month - I let it go the second month and ended up with this bill.
It was 2002 or 2003 when I was stuck with an additional $900+/- on my utility bill, which was when the utility pole in the alley was relocated / reconnected but with no record of that taking place - guess who had to pay or end up with no electricity at all?
In the past, others among the group described on my page (www.myspace.com/marlalk4) talked about tapping into their neighbor's lines as they boasted of their minimal monthly utility bills but once again, I did not believe it until it happened to me. So although I have names, dates and addresses, it will not be looked into. What's new.
If you look closely, you can see that the poles throughout town are all out of alignment, many are now standing in the middle of sidewalks, creating massive ADA violations. That is your first clue that it was not done legitimately or even by your utility company. The group behind this refer to themselves as "People Watchers." They are dangerous, as their trails of burglaries, ID theft, forged and fraudulent legal documents of people never seen again, suspected homicide and more indicate. They claim to be bypassing alarm systems as well as monitoring the inside of homes with hidden cameras. Clearly, switching power sources from one structure to another, allowing one to leech off the other is hardly a challenge for this group.
